Patent-Pending Campfire Cooking Assembly

Stable, Safe Open-Flame Cooking That Swings Away From the Fire

Forged n Smoke is a portable, modular campfire cooking stand that securely suspends a kettle over an open flame using a hinged two-pole design with a ground-spike anchor. The cantilevered arm holds cookware at the ideal height, while the built-in hinge lets you swing the kettle clear of the heat for safe, controlled cooking. Lightweight steel that breaks down for transport and assembles on-site in seconds - no tools required.

  • Swing-Away Safety: Pivot the kettle clear of the flames to stir, serve, or add fuel.
  • Rock-Solid Anchor: A driven ground spike locks the stand firm on uneven terrain.
  • Packs Flat: Tool-free breakdown into compact parts for any trail or campsite.

How It Works

Forged n Smoke turns any campfire into a stable, controllable cooktop. Drive the spike, lock the two poles together, hang the kettle on the braced arm - and cook.

Here is the thinking behind the design: the problem it solves, the solution it delivers, and how to get involved.

Unstable campfire cooking setup

The Problem

Open-flame cooking usually means balancing cookware on rocks or bent grates - unstable, tippy on uneven ground, and dangerous the moment you reach over the fire to stir or serve. And most rigs are too bulky and awkward to pack for the trail.

Forged n Smoke swing-away hinge and spike anchor

The Solution

Forged n Smoke suspends the kettle on a braced cantilever arm anchored by a driven ground spike, so it stays rock-steady on any terrain. A rear pin hinge swings the kettle clear of the flames for safe stirring and serving - and the whole stand breaks down flat, tool-free, in seconds.

Features & Benefits

  • Hinged Swing-Away Design A rear-mounted pin hinge lets you pivot the kettle away from the fire for safe serving, stirring, or adding fuel without reaching over open flames.
  • Ground Spike Anchor The lower pole terminates in a driven spike that locks the entire assembly firmly into the ground, eliminating wobble and tip-over risk on uneven terrain.
  • Tool-Free Modular Assembly The upper pole, lower pole, support arm, and kettle separate into compact components that pack flat and reassemble on-site without tools.
  • Braced Cantilever Support Arm An angled steel brace reinforces the two-foot support arm, providing reliable load-bearing strength for a full kettle of food or liquid over the fire.
  • Wraparound Cradle Arms Dual arcuate cradle arms encircle two-thirds of the kettle, cradling it securely and ensuring even, centered heat exposure from the campfire below.
  • Durable Steel Construction Built from steel with a protective finish, Forged n Smoke is made to withstand repeated use over direct flame.
  • Purpose-Matched Kettle Ships with a frustoconical steel kettle sized and shaped to seat perfectly in the cradle arms over the heat.
  • Go-Anywhere Portability Packs flat for the campsite, hunting camp, emergency kit, or backyard fire pit - and sets up wherever you build a fire.

The Story Behind Forged n Smoke

Andrew Lemmer built Forged n Smoke after growing tired of every campfire cooking setup that let him down - balanced rocks that shifted, bent grates that sagged, and rigs that were either flimsy, dangerous, or a hassle to haul to the trail.

His answer was a purpose-built, two-pole stand joined by a rear-mounted pin hinge. The lower pole drives into the ground on a built-in spike for rock-solid footing, while the upper pole carries a braced cantilever arm and dual cradle arms that wrap two-thirds of the kettle to keep it centered over the flame. When it is time to stir or serve, the whole assembly swings clear of the fire.

"This design solves all three problems - it's stable, it swings away from the fire for safety, and it breaks down flat for the trail," says Lemmer. Forged n Smoke is now patent-pending, and he is seeking manufacturing, retail, wholesale, distribution, and licensing partners to bring it to market.
